In the real world it is possible to buy a house, do it up and flip it. You purchase a home that needs work, do the work, and sell it for a profit. We can do the same thing with web sites, without getting your hands dirty, or gamble with our scarce strategic reserves - money!. You’ll find it possible to make an investment of well under a thousand dollars and, with a little formulation time and effort, use that investment to achieve a rate of return that’s unsurpassed in other market pleces.

It’s like playing at soccer — a game that has the potential of enormous profits, sure, but it’s always been the thrill of the goal that keeps me interested. Buying and selling web sites is not newbut is increasing and certainly it is one resource that is undervalued. Many companies do not see the potential to sell over the Internet and  web sites in many organisaitions are both undervalued and under used assets. Trends have seen a phenominal rise in site values across the board, which is somewhat comparable to the US housing market up until last year — online websites will of course increase in value over time, so if you simply buy a property, and control it for a while, you should be able to sell it for more than you paid. But, if we add value, we can flip the property for a quickprofit.

Flipping a site involves the following steps:

   1. Identify a website to buy

   2. Evaluate, negotiate, and complete the sale.

   3. Add value to the property.

   4. Find a buyer and sell the property.

Before you start to look at specific sites for sale, it’s helpful to come up with some sort of specialization to narrow your focus. Is there a unique type of website that you know best? For example, you might want to check out some forums, which will make it easier to measure a forum than an ecommerce site at a glance. You might focus on content sites, or blogs, or sites that sell a software or an ebook. Web-based services are great types of sites to consider, as are sites that sell actual products. Forums and other types of communities of interests will also offer a lot of opportunities. Sites that defy categorization might also be good places to look such as

It’s also helpful to narrow down your search by a particular market vertical. So, instead of just considering one type of site (e.g. forums), you might look at any type of site on a given matter (e.g. travel sites, including forums, online stores, etc.). Choose a specific vertical, and own it. For the sake of argument, let’s say you’re looking at the industrial flooring industry — unusual, I know, but let’s use our imaginations! Now, choose one or more niches within the vertical — let’s say you choose rubber, ceramic, and wood. Fire up your favorite search engine and go to work. Look for ecommerce sites selling wood flooring. Look for a site focused on a groundbreaking method of making laying ceramic, which sells this revolutionary information packaged up in an ebook. Look for a content site about rubber flooring laying techniques..

Before you become interested in buying a site, that website must have some persuasive factors, and a problem. When you’re looking at a site, keep one important question in mind: how canI improve this product and make money? For example, a site may be traffic rich. Look at its Alexa rank — is it in the top hundred thousand? Perhaps the site seems to have traffic, but it doesn’t look as if it’s generating substantial income in it’s niche. Maybe the site offers a good product or service, but hasn’t obtained its share in its marketplace. Is the proposition something that is unique, and that can allow you to make a comfortable profit margin? Possibly it provides some really unique and valuable content, but hasn’t been marketed and isn’t drawing the kind of traffic you think it probably could attract.

There are many businesses out there looking to obtain and increase market share who need a great website. Site flipping is one way the Internet guru can make a good business out of helping other businesses and with a program that assists you like The Site Rush makes it a breeze.
